The Rising Sun Court

The seven fairies of the Rising Sun Court, standing together in a sunlit wood

No one greets the morning alone.

Set the wake time, choose who lives inside the sun, and hear the voice. Everything here is saved to the sun's account on the website, and the sun reads it from there.

This is a preview of what you get: the seven fairies of the Rising Sun Court, the sunrise, reminders and chat. Try anything. Say hello and they answer for real, a few messages a day for free. Hear each fairy's hello. Sign in to ETL to hear them answer out loud. To use your own sun, connect it with its access code at the bottom.

Enter the key to connect

Your sun's access code

The access code for your sun. It stays in this browser. Without it nothing here can be read or changed.

ETL owner only: save the access code (first time only)

Step 1: type the Rising Sun access code in the box above. Step 2: type the ETL owner key here. Step 3: press the button below. Then press Connect above.

Give a tester a code of their own

Uses the ETL owner key above. The tester gets their own settings and chats, and never sees the provider keys. Adding the same name again replaces their code. Remove takes it away.

Who should greet your morning?

Pick what you need most. The fairy who keeps it says hello.

The Rising Sun Court

No one greets the morning alone. Pick a fairy to talk to and to see what they keep.

The seven fairies appear here once you connect with the access code at the top.

Want one?

Leave your email and ETL will tell you when the light or a candle is ready. ETL Lab members get 15% off. Your email is used for that and nothing else.

Chat

Write to them the way you would text a friend. They remember what you told them, so tomorrow they can ask how it went. Each fairy keeps a conversation of their own. What you write is kept on the website behind your sun's access code, and "Clear our chat" wipes it.

To hear them answer out loud, sign in to ETL. ETL Lab members get more messages and more voice.

Wake time

The sun is at full strength at this time. It starts coming up before it.

The sunrise

A preview of the colors on this screen. Drag to see any moment. The real strip will look a little different.

Reminders

Write one reminder per line, for example "Take your morning pills." The fairy says them in your words, after the greeting and before the question about the news. Nothing is added and no advice is given. Up to five. They are kept on the website behind your sun's access code.

Music

Play Apple Music or Spotify from here. Each listener signs in with their own subscription (Spotify needs Premium). Apple Music plays on the device that has this panel open. Spotify can play on this panel in a computer browser, or this panel can act as a remote for any other Spotify device, such as a phone. Your browser needs a tap first, so music cannot start by itself at wake time.

Little details

Birthdays, favorite songs, the names of the people you love. Write one per line. Start a line with the date as month and day, like 05-14, and your fairy says it on that morning, in their own voice. Lines without a date are things they can bring up when you talk. Up to forty. They are kept on the website behind your sun's access code.

Your calendar

Outlook: Settings, Calendar, Shared calendars, Publish a calendar, can view all details, then paste the ICS link. Anyone who has the link can read the calendar, so it is kept on the website and never shown again here. Nothing can be added, changed or deleted.

Your fairy cannot read your calendar yet. Ask for the news and Above the Fold from ETL Newswire plays, the daily briefing.

Owner setup (ETL only)

Customers never see this section. ETL holds the provider keys and pays for the thinking, the voice and the music setup. A customer only signs in to their own music account, and later sees their plan and credits. These fields are for ETL while the sun is a prototype.

The fairies' thinking runs on Claude through Amazon Bedrock, so the AWS credits pay for it. Paste the Bedrock key here once (from the AWS console: Bedrock, API keys). It is kept on the website and never shown again here. The voice uses the Azure key the site already has, and the Anthropic key the site already has is the backup. Nothing else to paste.

Apple Music

For the music player below. Three things from your Apple developer account: the Team ID, the Key ID, and the private key file (the .p8). Open the .p8 in a text editor and paste all of it. They are kept on the website and never shown again here. Not shown on screen: the listener signs in with their own Apple Music subscription, so ETL pays nothing for the music.

Spotify

For the music player. Make a free app at developer.spotify.com, then paste its Client ID here. The Client ID is public and not a secret, and no Spotify secret is used or kept anywhere. In the Spotify app's settings, add this exact address as a Redirect URI: . The listener signs in with their own Spotify Premium account.
