Oracle Sets $225 Billion FY2030 Revenue Target, Caps New Debt at $20 Billion
The software company's Investor Day projection implies 35% annual growth from FY26 and is meant to reassure a market rattled by Oracle's mounting debt load.
Oracle used its Investor Day in Las Vegas on Oct. 28 to put a number on where it thinks the AI infrastructure buildout takes the company: at least $225 billion in total revenue by fiscal year 2030, which ends in May of that year. The stock closed up roughly 11% on the day.
The target implies a 35% compound annual growth rate from FY26, when Oracle recorded total revenue of $67.4 billion, according to an 8-K filing reviewed by ETL Newswire. Investors who track the name closely know that LSEG consensus going into Wednesday expected only 8% growth in FY27, with acceleration thereafter. The FY30 consensus sat at $224.2 billion, per data cited by CNBC, meaning management's number lands barely above the Street's own projection rather than blowing through it.
The more material disclosure may be the financing guardrails. Oracle said it will cap additional capital raises through FY30 at $20 billion, split evenly between equity and debt, excluding refinancings of existing obligations. A $20 billion at-the-market equity offering completed in the first quarter of FY27 is separate from that ceiling, according to a company statement reviewed by StreetInsider. Management also committed to self-funded growth beginning in FY29, with a net-debt-to-adjusted-EBITDA target below 3.5 times that year.
Those pledges matter because Oracle's debt position has been the dominant overhang on the stock. Per CNBC's reporting, the company has issued $117 billion in long-term debt and holds an S&P credit rating of BBB-minus, the lowest investment-grade notch. Prior to Wednesday's session, shares had shed roughly a third of their value this year on concern the AI buildout was outrunning the company's ability to service it.
On the margin side, Oracle guided for non-GAAP operating margin above 40% and non-GAAP EPS of at least $21 by FY30, alongside a free-cash-flow target of $30 billion or more in FY29. The company expects to turn free-cash-flow positive in the second half of FY28, a timeline that buys management two fiscal years of continued heavy spend before the model has to prove itself. To get there, the company plans to add roughly 7 gigawatts of AI data-center capacity, reaching about 10 gigawatts by FY28, according to MarketBeat's summary of the investor day presentation.
Near-term, Oracle reaffirmed its FY27 outlook for revenue of at least $90 billion and non-GAAP EPS of $8.10, per the SEC filing. Co-CEOs Clay Magouryk and Mike Sicilia, along with CFO Hilary Maxson, presented the targets at what the company billed as Oracle AI World.
The skeptic's read is straightforward. Oracle's FY30 projection requires the company to more than triple revenue in four years while carrying a near-junk credit rating through at least two more years of negative free cash flow. Customer prepayments and vendor financing are doing real work in the capital structure plan, and any slippage in cloud-contract signings would put pressure on those assumptions fast. The bull case is that the FY26 annual RPO and backlog numbers gave the market enough confidence in contracted demand to price in the growth path. Wednesday's move suggests the financing cap was the piece the market most wanted to hear.
